Kickers
Since 1970, when the company was first established in France by Daniel Raufast, Kickers footwear has continued to provide many different people with stylish shoes and clothing. The inspiration which led to the inception of the company came from a poster which was advertising the musical, Hair. Raufast was interested by the up and coming ‘blue jean’ generation and believed that he could design and create something which was more compatible with their new found style and approach. Previously, typical blue jeans were more commonly used as workwear and had only recently become an item of fashion and style. Kickers footwear has embraced this concept fully and has continued to design and develop different designs of footwear which has been engineered for this purpose. As different designs of clothing are being brought out all of the time, Kickers footwear provides the shoes to match.
The concept became an instant hit, to the extent that in one season production capacity grew from 300 to 1200 pairs of Kickers per month. They were an immediate success in France, which soon spread across Europe, with Germany next to feel the Kickers bug. By 1974, a mere 4 years since the company’s initial inception, Kickers footwear was being sold and distributed in over 70 countries worldwide. To explain how popular Kickers footwear had become we go to the UK in the 1980s. There was so much anticipation for each pair of shoes that it wouldn’t be unusual to see queues at 10 o’clock at night as people all around the country eagerly awaited the next shipment of shoes.
As Kickers footwear grew it became an iconic brand and image, something which many celebrity figures and style icons took it upon themselves to support and endorse. The brand was synonymous with the music industry many celebrities such as Ms Dynamite, Noel Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys and even Craig David. With many people taking such a great interest in Kickers footwear, it is definitely something to consider if you are looking for high quality, stylish shoes.
