Customer Reviews:

"I visited Kirkcaldy branch on 18 November with my husband. The service provided by Elaine and her manager was excellent. Both ladies were so helpful and friendly making the whole shopping experience a pleasure. The shoes were purchased and we will certainly be back.

I was served on the 7th of this month by A. Grainer in your Kirkcaldy shop. The service was excellent, the lady was absolutely great nothing was too much trouble and everything was with a smile. Couldn't ask for better. I have been shopping there for fifty years. First for myself then my son, my grandchildren and now my great-granddaughter. Believe it or not this lady remembered me, how wonderful is that?!"

Informally referred to as ‘Long Town’, the Charles Clinkard store in Kirkcaldy is situated along the town’s extensive high street, prominent as a result of its impeccable customer service and wide selection of brands, as well as the specialist shoe fitting service it provides. The store, which was refurbished in 2015 is located next to the Forum shopping centre, the site formerly holding resident to Mathieson’s Shoe Fitters. The well-established spot now offers a wide selection of men’s, women’s, boys and girls footwear and accessories.

A 9 minute walk from the store takes you to Kirkcaldy’s Railway Station, and there is free parking along the Esplanade, the road parallel to the High Street. Bus stops are located along the main high street, and the town’s Bus Station is a 3 minute walk away.

Situated on the East Coast of Scotland, 11 miles North of Edinburgh, the town of Kirkcaldy is best known for hosting the longest street fair in Europe (also the oldest in Scotland). The Links Market is held every Easter on the town’s almost 4 mile long esplanade, offering both traditional and modern fairground rides and food to a staggering 200,000-300,000 visitors!

Following your successful visit to our Charles Clinkard store, stop off at Baba Bistro for one of their barbeque pulled pork, apple and red cabbage slaw-packed brioche buns, or a wedge of one of their delicious homemade tray bakes and a cup of coffee.

Jackie’s earliest memory of Charles Clinkard was when they acquired Stead and Simpson. She has worked in the footwear industry for 22 years, starting off as a part-time sales assistant at Mathieson’s Shoe Fitters and then becoming an Assistant Manager at Charles Clinkard until taking on the challenge of Store Manager upon her Manager’s retirement. The best thing, and most motivating part of her job is seeing happy customers make a purchase, as well as the great team surrounding her. Her 14 month old grandson keeps her occupied when she’s not at work, and her recommendation for a great pair of boots in store at the minute are the Gabor Enfield which she wears for work as a result of their comfort and smart appearance.
