Customer Reviews:

I bought a pair of boots in your Burford store and was served by Shane. She was exceptional, helpful without being intrusive, and just the perfect sales assistant. Clinkard's are lucky to have her as an employee! Thank you, Shane.

About the Shop

Our Charles Clinkard Burford store is situated within High Street which presents many pubs, eateries and other retailers. Our store catches the eye as a result of its impeccable presentation and wide range of products, paired with its welcoming customer focused culture. Hard to pick just one memorable customer of so many, the store’s manager Jo remembers her first day as if it was yesterday. She was so happy that Charles Clinkard had opened a store in her town that she leaves the store everyday exceedingly happy to return again. Displaying an extensive range of men’s and ladies footwear and accessories, the store which opened on the town’s main High Street in 2017 is very well positioned for access.

Free parking is found on the High Street, where there is also an array of bus links to the surrounding areas. The Shipton Railway Station is around an 8 minute taxi ride from the store and Burford car park is just on the other side of the River Windrush with 199 spaces.

About the Area

Nestled in the Cotswold Hills of West Oxfordshire sits the ‘Gateway’ to the Cotswolds, a medieval town upon the River Windrush, Burford. Home of Oxford Blue cheese production, the picturesque town is blessed with a wide range of eateries serving delicious food to a high standard. In particular, Huffkins offers the most delicious coffee and cakes, and the ideal location to wind down after a successful shopping trip at Charles Clinkard. Why not treat your palette by ordering a Cotswold Fruits herbal tea paired with the mouth-watering Cotswold rarebit. A masterpiece of mature cheddar, Cotswold cured ham, and pears on toasted bread, complemented by fresh salad and a spicy tomato and caramelised onion chutney. In a town brimming with so many historical buildings, it is difficult to choose which to study first. Burford Church with it’s amazing architecture, or the Tolsey museum, one of the town’s oldest attractions housed inside a distinctive black and white timber fronted Tudor building are a good place start, along with Warwick Hall which sits upon the river.

About the Manager

Jo's main focus of managing the Burford store is making sure the day to day running of the business meets a high standard, while ensuring all staff are aware and happy re. the tasks they need to perform to achieve the store’s goals. They're always encouraged by Jo to deliver their best performance at all times to guarantee customer’s positive experience in store. Jo's favourite part of the job is knowing that customers leave happy and satisfied, and want to return again. Spending her down-time walking in the countryside, and engaging in adventurous pursuits like horse riding and clay pigeon shooting, Jo feels it is very rewarding working closely with others sharing a common goal. Her recommendation in store at the moment are Gabor and Regarde Le Ciel for the cooler months, and Fly London and Gabor for Spring/Summer.
