Customer Reviews:

I just wanted to say what a good job your staff are doing in the current situation and say thank you. We purchased my daughters first shoes from you today, after an awful experience at another shoe shop yesterday. The whole experience was so positive, we were made to feel welcome and staff were all friendly to both my children. The lady serving us spoke to both girls and although was quiet she was pleasant and polite. She was incredibly helpful and patient, letting us try on different pairs to find one we liked, and letting our daughter feel comfortable by holding a shoe while she was measured and fitted which she was thrilled at! We then got a photo and a lovely box and bag as a memento of her first shoes. Even though staff were wearing PPE, they made the experience as positive as possible for both my girls to which we are very grateful. We haven’t really shopped with clinks before but most definitely will be returning, especially as you seem to have a young shoe lover already.

About the Shop

Drawing customers from all directions, the extensive indoor shopping and leisure destination filled with over 280 stores, just outside of Sheffield’s city centre was opened in September 1990. With the largest children’s footwear department in the North, many members of their staff have been there from the very beginning! The Meadowhall store stocks a wide selection of quality men’s, women’s, boy's and girl's footwear, also boasting a specialist fitting service.

The store has a very large, loyal following some of which attend the store every weekend just to see Liz and her team, and of course the array of products on display. Liz says that it’s a great feeling overcoming a customer’s doubt whether they can be helped or find what they’re looking for.

Making it one of the most accessible of our shops, Meadowhall comes complete with its own train and bus stations and over 12,000 free car parking spaces.

About the Area

The leafy green ‘Steel City’, a destination historically known for its steel pioneering, is home to the world’s oldest football club Sheffield F.C. Apparently having more trees per person than any other European city, it is also famous for blessing the world with The Arctic Monkeys, Def Leppard and Pulp, and for its other former resident, Robert the Cutler who resided in the city around 1297, starting off the city’s renowned cutlery industry.

If you're after a bite to eat after shopping in our store, the independent coffee shop Cafe Rizzoli is just opposite, along with Costa Coffee around the corner. If you're feeling extra peckish, however, the food court is only a short walk away and is filled with all of your favourite foodies from Carluccio's, Harvester and more.  Maximise your visit to Sheffield by visiting the Butterfly Farm in North Anston, a constantly changing place for the whole family to enjoy.

About the Manager
Liz started out with Clinkard's as manager of the Meadowhall store and has continued to do so for the last 15 years or more. During this time Liz also held the position of operations manager for nearly four years. Starting off her day, Liz checks in with her stock team to see what is on their agenda, then delegates any priorities. She then catches up with any other management in store regarding stock, staffing, sales and performance and opens the doors for the day. She makes it a priority to ensure targets are achieved in store, and to ensure every sale possible meets her high standard for customer service. Liz’s main focus is her customers- she loves meeting new people every day and also seeing her regulars. Beginning at K Shoes as a Saturday girl, Liz has also worked for Ravel as a store manager in various locations, before joining the Charles Clinkard team. Working for a company with such lovely people has kept Liz loyal to the company- she feels she is valued as a person rather than a number.
With family at the centre of her world, Liz has recently started skiing lessons (she has had to postpone them for a while though, as she broke her arm slipping on laminate floor while on a coffee break during a lesson!) Her favourite place ever visited is Barbados, a dreamy place where she once saw many baby turtles heading for the sea, rescuing one that was travelling the wrong direction. Her hero was her Grandad Rodgers, a ‘true gentleman’, and the most kind, loving and generous man she’s ever met - always putting others before himself.
Now a true shoe connoisseur, Liz‘s recommendation sold in store at present are Fly boots for casual wear and Gabor boots for work- she really values comfort. Her favourite shoe brand overall is Paul Smith, of which she treated herself to some of his swirl sandals and doesn’t know what she’ll do without them when they give up the ghost, as they go with absolutely everything! Upon winning the lottery, she would splurge on more sandals both comfortable and bright!
