Customer Reviews:

"Thanks to staff in Warwick for great honest service today. So pleased to have discovered the shop!"

Coten End, formerly ‘Cotton End’, is the setting for Warwick’s Charles Clinkard store, succeeding 40 years of footwear retailing on the site. Being the only shoe shop offering children’s shoes in the lively market town, it is the hub for Back to School shopping for the numerous of schools in the area, especially as all staff are highly skilled in children’s shoe fitting. As well as children’s footwear and accessories, the small store, which is managed by Matt, also stocks a wide range for both men and women. Free on-street parking is available on Coten End, and the Warwick Railway Station is a mere 5 minute walk from the store, with multiple bus links en route.

Set around the magnificent Warwick Castle, the town of the same name is situated on a twist in the River Avon. Blending old and new, the town offers many places to satisfy both your inner foodie and inner shopaholic. In particular, Pastelaria Portuguesa will satisfy your cravings after a successful shop at Charles Clinkard, only 2 minutes away from the store on foot. Try the hummus, sunblush tomato and beetroot open sandwich with a strong black coffee. To top of your day in Warwick, stare in wonder at the mighty Warwick Castle, possibly Britain’s greatest medieval experience! It boasts an exciting display of live jousting, haunted tours and trebuchets being fired. You can even stay in one of the Castle’s Tower suites, medieval glamping tents or at one of the Knights Village lodges.

Starting his day at 8.20am, Matt arrives at the store to tackle web orders and emails, before opening the doors at 9am. Taking a hand’s-on approach to managing his small store, his close knit team has the inherent focus to sell, sell, sell. 5.30pm sees the doors close on the day, when he updates his staff figures and notice boards for a 5.50 escape.

He began his career with the company in August 2012 as the Deputy Manager of Stratford upon Avon. The Acapella aficionado was promoted to Manager of the store in his home town, Warwick in October 2014. He describes the best part of his job being that he gets to meet new people each and every day and the inner warm glow he gets when customers return because of the great service his store provides.

A true family man, Matt loves spending time with his two special people, (soon to be three!) who motivate him to succeed at work and in life- his wife and daughter! His day off, Wednesday is family day. The keen Leeds United fan’s firm favourite shoe brand is Loake. Foley by the brand are his top pick in store at the moment, and Thompson are his go-to formal shoes of choice. Upon winning the lottery, he would be walking out of a Loake store with a box of Loake’s sublime quality pairs - or few!
