Le Chameau is known widely as one of the world’s most iconic boot brands. Established in 1927, they are the only company to make rubber boots that are handmade by a single master bootmaker, meaning you can be sure any pair you buy from this range will be completely unique. The brand use traditional processes that have been tried and tested for more than 90 years, so if you’re looking for quality footwear, you’re in the right place.
Where are Le Chameau boots made?
The Le Chameau brand was originally founded in Cherborg, France by Claude Chamot. To begin with, this is also where the boots were made. However, by 1939 the demand for his boots had grown so much that Claude acquired a workshop in Normandy to produce his boots on a larger scale. And, in 1949, he invested in a new factory in Casablanca. Following the closure of the iconic Normandy workshop, all production of La Chameau footwear is now done in the Casabalanca factory.
Are Le Chameau wellies good?
Yes, Le Chameau wellies have been heralded as the ‘Rolls Royce of the Wellington world’, according to Country Life. The brand has sourced and used the finest, most durable materials to make their boots since the start. These include resilient natural rubber, flexible neoprene and waterproof nubuck. Plus, their 100% natural wool linings will ensure your feet stay nice and cosy all year round.
