Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement 2022/23

This statement outlines the measures taken by The Clinkard Group Ltd to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chain.

  • We work with established and respected footwear brands and have long-standing relationships built on mutual trust with the vast majority of our suppliers.  We actively engage with our suppliers to ensure their values and business ethics are aligned with ours.

  •  We have asked all our current supply chain partners to confirm their business has implemented measures to ensure they and all partners within their supply chain are not engaged in slavery or human trafficking as defined within the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

  • We will not partner with any organisation that either has or is found to be involved with slavery or human trafficking.  Furthermore if any partner is unable to confirm that they are not committing any of the offences defined in Part 1 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 then we will end that partnership with immediate effect.

  • All of our employees within the supply chain function are fully aware of their obligations when engaging with new suppliers.  We commit to working solely with suppliers that have strong ethical standards and who provide good working conditions for all their employees.  Proposed new suppliers must be approved by the Managing Director and one other Director before a business relationship can commence.

  •  As part of our governance procedures the Board of Directors will review this statement on a regular basis to ensure it is accurate and fit for purpose.  If any issues materialise between reviews they will be investigated by the Managing Director and reported to the Board at the next monthly Board Meeting.

This statement was approved by the board on 21st April 2022.
