We have a wide selection of shoes for Men, Women, Boys and Girls.
The Northallerton store has traded in the bustling market town for almost 50 years opening in 1969, making it one of the oldest Charles Clinkard branches. Refurbished in January 2017, it offers an outstanding selection of men’s, women’s, boys and girls footwear and accessories. Led by its store manager Sue, the range of good quality brands combined with top level service and their specialist fitting expertise sets the store apart from other shoe shops in the area.
Located centrally on Northallerton’s main high street, the train station is a ten minute walk from the store. Bus links are abundant around the shops prime location, and there is a large car park with many spaces available one street over. Choose from a short stay at Applegarth car park where you receive an hour free (press green button for ticket), or the long stay which is £4 for all day.
The staff in the Northallerton store take pride in their customer service, and are always happy to meet new people during service.
Set within the Vale of Mowbray’s rich green farmland, the North Yorkshire market town of Northallerton was once on the old Great North Road between London and Edinburgh, still holding a thriving market on its renowned Georgian High Street. Barker’s Department Store and the gourmet food emporium Lewis and Cooper add to the high street’s distinct character; both family-run businesses have been familiar faces here for over 100 years!
Head to the other gem standing prominently on the high street - the renowned Yorkshire (also family-run) Betty’s Tea Rooms, and treat yourself to one of their outstanding breakfasts, Betty’s Yorkshire Rarebit or something delectable from the cake trolley to accompany your pot of proper Yorkshire Tea! If you are looking to maximise your stay in the area, forty minutes by car takes you to the spectacular Fountains Abbey, one of the largest and best preserved ruined monasteries in England, famously dissipated by King Henry VIII in 1539.
A real people person, Sue the store’s manager spends her busy days meeting the many different faces which walk through the doors of our Northallerton store, making sure they are given the best possible service. This is definitely her favourite part of the job - seeing customers leave her store fully satisfied and happy with their store experience. Outside of work she spends time with her grandchildren, and socialises with her friends and family.
Sue has worked her way up from supervisor to manager level within the store, and every day is motivated by meeting such a variety of different people and passing on her knowledge and experiences. In her 30 years of service, Sue has developed a fine-tuned knowledge of shoes. She always recommends Gabor and Paul Green as they are her favourite brands due to their comfort and style, and her top shoe care tip would always be to clean your shoes regularly as well as using a protector spray to prolong their life. When Sue isn’t taking care of her customers in Northallerton she loves to spend time with family and friends, as well as keeping fit by going to the gym!
