Shrewsbury

The Shrewsbury store is located in Irelands Mansion, which was built in 1575. When visiting the store there is a Park and Ride from 3 different locations on the outskirts of town, there are buses that run every 20 minutes, and we are just a stone's throw away from the square. There are also various pay and display car parks in the town centre. The store is one of many black and white Tudor framed buildings that are around Shrewsbury. People often do not realise the size of the store and is often describes as a Tardis.  

The first thing Shrewsbury’s manager Tash does when she arrives is pop the kettle on, catch up on the previous day and plan for the day ahead. “No two days are ever the same” says Tash but from the moment they open the door you will be greeted by one of our friendly team who will put their all in to finding the perfect shoes for you, and towards the end of the day she will make sure the store is all ready for the following day. Tash has been with the company for just over 9 years, starting out as assistant Manager before welcoming 2 beautiful children. At the start of 2025, she stepped up to Store Manager and says that she has been blessed with a brilliant team. Some of the standout moments for Tash is that regular customers love to just pop in for a chat with many of them remembering when she was pregnant with her children and often asking how they are which is lovely that they remember.  

One of the parts that Tash enjoys the most about being part of the Charles Clinkard team is that they are like a family unit and have a very established team who will always do their upmost to help in tricky situations. When customers ask what is comfortable, Tash will always say Gabor. She has worn their shoes since joining the company and finds them perfect for daily wear. Part of the reason she recommends them is because they do trendy styles to compliment all wardrobes as well as remaining comfortable all day even when running up and down the stairs 100 times a day. 

Outside of work she is mum to Sienna and Tobias, Sienna was named after the Josef Seibel boots after wondering round the stockroom looking for name inspiration. She loves nothing more than spending the day with her family, going for a walk to park or going out for lunch, she’s always titivating her house, and her husband quite often comes home from work to find she has decided to paint the kitchen cabinets; she blames Pinterest! 

Tash’s top tips for customers are that Protector is the most important product you need as not only does it protect from the rain but stops shoes staining if you drop anything on them. White shoe cream is also a must with White trainers still being popular, it helps refresh your shoes and will keep them looking newer.
