Cusomer Reviews:

After visiting one of your competitors and having very little luck, or service, we decided to pop into Charles Clinkard Witney. Rochelle was amazing, and really knew her stuff. My daughter has very wide little feet and we struggle to get shoes in her size. She listened to my concerns, measured her feet again, and went off to find some shoe options for us. She came back with three pairs, one of which was perfect and my 2-year-old clearly liked and felt comfortable in. I don't mind paying a little more for quality and choice. Would highly recommend.

The service is always great both on line or in the Witney local shop. Helpful and polite staff.

Shopping for boots for my 90-year old mother in Witney. Not the easiest of shopping experiences or most straightforward of customers. Tish in Witney looked after us for almost an hour and was lovely throughout. We ended up buying shoes and boots for mum and boots for grand-daughter too. Very pleased.

About the Shop

Helpful service with a smile, in a great setting with an extensive brand range has set the Charles Clinkard store in Witney apart from its competition since its opening in 2008. The store offers customers a choice of men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ footwear and accessories, as well as a specialist fitting service.  A frequent bus service connects the store to the Oxford Railway Station and surrounding areas, and you can park at Waitrose, which is only a 5 minute walk from the store.

About the Area

12 miles from Oxford, on the border of the outstandingly beautiful Cotswolds and framed by the River Windrush, Witney retains the feel of a bustling market town. Famous for its woollen blankets since the Middle Ages, every blanket made there was once weighed at the Blanket Hall- a must-visit when you are in the town. Maximise your visit to the area by stopping off at Blenheim Palace, the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill and an impressive English country house. If you are shopping with little ones, why not stop off at Cogges Manor Farm, where they can let loose on the adventure playground, soft play and feed the farm animals. Hunters Cake Café is our recommendation for a slice of their ‘Cake of the month’ and a pot of tea after a successful shopping trip to the Charles Clinkard store.

About the Manager

Meeting new people every day and seeing happy customers leave the store is Manager Keighley’s favourite part of the job. Her earliest memory of the company was her training in Milton Keynes by James, our Newcastle branch manager and Sally, manager of our Cambridge branch. Starting as the Assistant Manager of Oxford’s store, she became acting manager when her manager went to cover maternity leave in Cambridge. The self-confessed big kid loves to travel and be challenged. She is motivated by seeing the end product of a task come to life.

Now a true shoe fanatic after 7 years with the company, Keighley’s favourite pair in store at the moment are Gabor’s Cotswold as a result of their comfort and versatility. Her favourite pair ever bought are Ugg Boots, the cosiest and most comfortable footwear she has ever worn, and upon winning the lottery she would certainly not limit herself to just buying one pair of shoes, she would buy herself multiple- the funkier the better!
