Win Shoes For Your Class 2018
Our Win Shoes For Your Class Competition returned and this year we tasked creative school children to design a new pair of shoes to be worn in the future. We were so impressed with the entries we received that we had to choose two winners…

Our first winner was seven-year-old Alfie Mcgann from Holy Name Catholic Voluntary Academy in Leeds. Alfie’s futuristic shoe design enabled their wearer to teleport to wherever they desired by tapping them together. Alfie explained that “You don’t have to tell them where you want to go, the shoes can sense it from your thoughts, and they also sense danger, for example keeping you safe when crossing the road.”

Alfie and his entire class won a new pair of shoes which they received when they visited our Leeds store. Alfie’s teacher, Caroline Barker, said “the children loved taking part in the competition and it really helped them use their imagination to come up with creative designs. They were all so excited when they found out Alfie had won and really enjoyed their visit to Charles Clinkard. The whole class was buzzing about their new shoes when they came back to school – one of the children even shouted best shop ever! We want to thank Charles Clinkard again for its generous prize of 30 pairs of shoes.”

Our second winner was nine-year-old Entisar Adem from Netherthorpe Primary School in Sheffield. Entisar’s winning design was for a pair of shoes that could walk on water and included solar power to regulate temperature, heating or cooling the body.

Entisar and her class received their prize shoes on a visit to our Meadowhall store. Teacher Terrie Shawt said that, “We were all so excited to hear Entisar had won the competition and it’s even more special that she was able to share the prize with her classmates. The competition really helped the children use their imagination and think about what they’d been learning in class. We want to thank Charles Clinkard again for its generous prize of 26 pairs of shoes – they all had a fantastic day picking out their favourite styles!”
