World Autism Awareness Week 2019

Pioneered by the National Autistic Society, the World Autism Awareness Week campaign aims to raise more of a public understanding surrounding autism and encourages society to celebrate diversity by breaking the stigma that is often associated with the condition. At Charles Clinkard, we work very closely with local charity Daisy Chain, a unique foundation that provides a haven for families affected by autism in the Tees Valley.

Take a look at how we supported World Autism Awareness Week…

Daisy Chain hosts regular activity days with the hope of bringing together families affected by autism, or those who have children going through the diagnostic process.
Their family days include an abundance of fun-filled activities where children can enjoy soft play, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, plus access to their petting farm.

Visit Daisy Chain’s website for information on their family activity days and to find out more on how you can support their unique charity.

Nathan being interview for the press

It was also a very busy week for Nathan from our Northallerton store, who was interviewed for the local press and appeared on BBC Tees radio to share his experiences of autism in the workplace. In the interview, Nathan speaks openly about his ‘brutally honest’ personality and offers heart-warming advice to others in similar situations.

Nathan also hosted a quiz at his local pub The Spread Eagle in Stokesley and raised an incredible £182 for Daisy Chain. Fantastic work, Nathan!
