AUTUMNAL ACTIVITIES

The end of the school term is on it’s way, and we know that coming up with new ideas to keep the whole family entertained can be difficult, especially when (inevitably) the weather isn’t the best – something we know all too well here in the UK!

So, we have put together a few of our favourite autumnal activities to keep everyone entertained over the half term holidays.

Keep reading to see some of our favourite things to do:

Woodland Walks

The perfect way to appreciate the changing seasons whilst also getting in some fresh air, is enjoying a woodland walk. Explore the outdoors and get all of the family moving by exploring nature – this can be made even more fun and interactive by creating fun games for your little ones to participate in, such as a nature trial, competitions on who can spot the most wildlife and gathering conkers.

A Spot Of Baking

A cosy day spent at home will most likely be needed (and possibly unavoidable with the British weather!) this half-term, and a perfect way to spend an afternoon is with cozy autumnal bakes.

Whether it’s cakes, banana bread or Halloween-inspired recipes, spending time creating a sweet treat is a fun way for the family to get involved.

Visit A Pumpkin Patch

Few things scream autumn more than pumpkins, so visiting a pumpkin patch is a great seasonal activity to get you into the autumnal spirit! Adding a little more fun and interactivity than just popping to the shop for a pumpkin, picking your own pumpkin’s is a great activity for all of the family. If you’re close to the North East, Spilman’s Farm has proved to be a popular venue – offering spooky and festive inspired activities as well as pumpkin picking.

Participate In Local Activities

Many local museums, art galleries or leisure centres (amongst many other venues!) may offer free entry, or host events especially for children across the half-term holidays – especially with Halloween approaching, there are sure to be many events and activities taking place. Many may advertise online or through local children’s/leisure centres and keeping up to date with attractions in your local area can help you with ideas on how to fill the days this half-term!
