"I joined Charles Clinkard more than 20 years ago and have been fortunate enough to experience a number of different roles across the business. My journey began, whilst I was still at college, as a Saturday sales assistant in our Middlesbrough branch. I spent around five years in branch before taking the opportunity to move into our ecommerce team at Head Office, marking the start of a new chapter in my career at Clinkards, and a chapter that has led to the role I currently hold."

"Peak season is always a challenge in logistics. The pressure on our warehouse team increases significantly, and our focus is on managing that demand while keeping disruption to our online and retail branches to an absolute minimum. 

Preparation is key! We spend a lot of time forecasting, planning ahead, and reflecting on lessons learned from previous peak periods. In reality, though, the most valuable qualities during a busy season are flexibility, adaptability, and good communication. No matter how detailed the plan, unexpected challenges always arise, so being able to respond quickly and keep the wider business informed is what really makes the difference."

How do you start your work morning?

- "I start my work day with a strong coffee and a review of my schedule/ to-do list for the coming day"

- "It depends whether I'm going to or from work!  Most replayed at the moment, though: La Rumba Del Perdon - ROSALIA,  and any song from CMAT's most recent album. "

- "Sushi! Plenty of wasabi! "
